How To Apply

 

OASEC USA ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIP AWARD


Instructions for Academic Year 2014-2015

Award Amount: 3 awards of: 

-N- 100,000 ($US 650) per year  per student

 

1.Click here to Download Application form 2. You must submit this completed application form and all supplementary requests by October 30, 2013. You should be prepared for personal interviews at the discretion of the Scholarship Award Committee via SKYPE


Eligibility

1. Student must be a Nigerian citizen. 
2. Have at least one parent from Ogwashi-Ukwu 

3. Must be a high school graduate. 

4. High School must be located in Ogwashi

5. Must be between age 16-22 years old

6. Must be enrolled in an undergraduate full-time degree or certificate program at a Nigerian technical college, university or school of higher education for the academic year commencing in the year in which the scholarship is granted and the recipient must have graduated from high school.

The award will be a one time cash payout to recipients. The recepient may chose to use the funds for tuition, books and housing.

Scholarship recipients will be announced on this website and at the Biennial Ogwashi-Ukwu National Convention in the USA.

Essays: Submit a typed essay with a brief autobiography, no longer than two pages describing: (1)  Why you need this scholarship award, (2) academic strengths and challenges, (3) work experience, (4) career objectives,  (5) All association affiliations, (6) community service involvement, (7) field of study and (8) future career plans. 

Recommendation Letters: Applicants should complete Section III and should have an academic instructor and appropriate employer/supervisor write short recommendation letters rating you in the following areas: (1) Leadership, Initiative, (2) Seriousness of purpose, (3) Enthusiasm, (4) Adaptability, (5) Maturity, (6) Emotional stability, (7) Public speaking, (8) Community service.

Transcripts: Provide original transcripts from current secondary school or high school. 


Enclose all essays, photographs, transcripts, and recommendation letters with your application.
